What is Theocide?
Imagine if a dark fantasy deckbuilder smashed directly into a turn-based strategy game. That's Theocide, where you lead an army across a grid to prove your faction is the rightful heir.

Gameplay
You're not just staring at a static enemy here. You're commanding a general and an army on a 9x5 grid, blending deckbuilding with turn-based strategy. You'll pick from five warring factions and fight for board position, which actually matters for your survival. The core loop is addictive because you don't just rely on your starting deck; you draft augments mid-match. These augments force you to pivot your strategy on the fly, creating synergies that keep individual runs from feeling like a chore. It's got a tactical crunch similar to Monster Train, though it doesn't hit the infinite variety of Balatro.
Since it's Free to Play, the barrier to entry is zero, but the meta-progression is tied heavily to the ranked ladder. That's where it gets a bit shaky. You're at the mercy of the player base to feel like you're actually progressing. The game is definitely still finding its footing and feels rough around the edges. It's a blast when the systems click, but don't expect a polished masterpiece. I'm giving it a 7/10 because the drafting and positioning are satisfying enough to ignore the kinks for now.

Verdict
“ranked cant find a match”
Grab this if you love tactical positioning and experimental synergies. If you hate unstable matchmaking or rough, unfinished edges, you should probably wait for a few more patches.
