What is Wake the Beacon?

A zen, incremental shooter with satisfying bouncing shots but very little actual depth.

Imagine a Tower Defense game stripped down to a single, powerful beacon firing ricocheting shots into the void. Wake the Beacon is a short, meditative incremental shooter where you crush geometric swarms to push your signal deeper into space.

Gameplay

You've gotta realize this isn't a traditional Tower Defense like Kingdom Rush. It's more of an incremental shooter where you've just got one beacon firing bouncing projectiles at swarms of geometric shapes. The core loop is honestly super satisfying; watching a single shot ricochet off the walls and shred through a crowd just hits right. It's a very zen experience that's perfect for a second monitor while you're working or studying.

But let's be real: it's pretty bare-bones. You'll notice the background doesn't change and the music loops quickly. You don't get that deep progression you'd find in Bloons TD with wild new tower unlocks. Instead, you're just upgrading that one beacon to push your signal further into space. It's an arcade-style experience that does one thing well rather than ten things okay.

At $4.99, it's a bit of a gamble for such a short experience. You aren't getting a massive campaign or complex strategy here. It's a small, meditative slice of a game. If you're looking for something to kill an hour or two, it works, but don't expect a deep dive. It's simply too shallow to justify a full price tag unless it's on sale. 6/10.

Grab this if you want a low-stress, meditative game to zone out to for an hour. Skip it if you want complex strategy or deep progression, as the shallow systems make it a hard sell at full price.
