What is Deadline Savior?
Imagine if your Pomodoro timer was actually an RPG where your productivity fueled your hero's power. Deadline Savior turns your daily work grind into a literal loot grind by linking your real-life tasks to in-game battles.

Gameplay
You've probably never played an autobattler that actually forces you to stop gaming. Deadline Savior is a weird hybrid that acts like a productivity plugin for your desktop. You set your real-life to-do list and start a focus timer; while you're actually working, your hero is out there grinding loot and fighting monsters in a pixel world. When you take a break, you jump in to equip gear and upgrade skills. It's basically a Pomodoro timer that had a baby with an idle RPG.
Don't expect the heavy strategy you'll find in Underlords. The 'battler' part is way more passive here. You aren't micro-managing unit placements or sweating over a 30-minute draft. Instead, the real strategy is managing your own procrastination so your Paladin or Rogue doesn't get wrecked by the boss 'Procrastination'. It's not deep, but the loop of working in real life to trigger fights in-game is a clever way to trick your brain into being productive.
Since it's in Early Access, it's definitely got some rough edges. It's a $4.99 buy, which is unusual for a genre that's usually free-to-play, but you're paying for a utility tool as much as a game. You'll find the systems are shallow if you're looking for a hardcore competitive experience, but as a desktop companion that carries progress into the next timeline, it does its job. It's less about mastering a meta and more about finishing your projects.

Verdict
If you've got a mountain of work and a gaming addiction, this is a solid 8/10 utility tool. Skip it if you want a high-intensity autobattler with deep strategy, as the combat systems are far too simple for hardcore fans.
