First Impressions: Dino Card Hunt Demo
If you've got a few minutes and love deckbuilders, you need to grab the Dino Card Hunt demo. It's a solo indie project that blends creature collection with an auto-battler twist that actually feels fresh.

Gameplay
You aren't just playing cards to attack here; you're scavenging for dino eggs and hatching a party mid-run. Once your dinos hit the field, they fight on auto-battler logic. Your actual deck-building happens when you arm those creatures with cards from your hand to tweak their combat style. It's a tight loop of balancing which eggs to hatch and how to synergize gear cards with your specific team. It doesn't give you the pure tactical control of Slay the Spire, but it hits that party-management itch similar to Monster Train.
Run variety comes from the Ever-Changing Island layout and the randomness of the eggs you find. However, you've gotta be patient. This is a solo indie project and it's definitely rough around the edges. You'll run into clunky animations, missing keywords, and some UX friction. The v0.6.5 update added a mascot guide and tweaked early-game difficulty, but the balance swings are still there. It's a labor of love, but the polish isn't where a finished product should be. Since it's a free demo, the jank is easier to swallow, but don't expect a seamless experience.

First Impressions
It's worth your time if you're a genre nerd who doesn't mind some jank. Since it's free, you should try it to see if the synergy clicks, but wait for the full release if you can't stand clunky UX. I want to see more polished animations and tighter balance in the final version.
