What is 保卫粮食 Grain Defense?
If you're bored of the same old paths, you've gotta check out Grain Defense. It's a weird, chaotic indie gem that mashes together tower defense, survivor-style hordes, and card-game drafting into one agricultural nightmare.

Gameplay
You play as an agricultural researcher fighting off swarms of pests, but it's not your typical 'place a tower and wait' setup. The core loop is a wild mashup: you draft crops from a shop using Hearthstone Battlegrounds-style logic, survive waves of enemies that feel like a Vampire Survivors horde, and then optimize your board. Because pests attack from all directions, you can't just funnel them into a single kill-zone like you'd do in Kingdom Rush. You've gotta be way more intentional about your layout.
It's far more active than Defense Grid because of that constant survivor-like pressure. The real hook is the replayability; you can customize enemy difficulty and upload your own challenges for other players to tackle. However, it's definitely an indie project with some rough edges. The UI feels clunky at times and it lacks any AAA polish. At $3.99, it's a paid title in a space often dominated by free-to-play mobile clones, but the unique mechanics justify the cost if you're into hybrid experiments.
It's not for everyone, though. If you want a polished, streamlined experience, the jank might get to you. But if you enjoy the tension of drafting the right units under pressure while managing a chaotic board, you'll find it addictive.

Verdict
I'm giving this a 7.5/10. It's a must-play for TD nerds who want a fresh, experimental challenge, but you should skip it if you can't handle a clunky UI and indie jank.
