What is Steel & Fortune?
Steel & Fortune is a scrappy little indie autobattler that lets you build a guild and watch your plans unfold in real-time combat. It’s cheap, it’s got soul, but it’s also rough around the edges. You need to know if this hidden gem is worth your time or just another janky project.

Gameplay
You’re building a guild, recruiting adventurers, and shaping their skills before sending them into dangerous lands. The core loop is standard autobattler fare: draft units, manage your economy, and position for the win. It’s derivative, sure, but it doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel. It just wants you to build a cool squad and watch them wreck things. You choose your route through the map, and the 'fortune' part comes from managing resources with high-risk, high-reward gambles. The battles unfold in real-time, which is satisfying when you see a weird synergy actually work. But let’s be real: it’s rough. The UI is clunky, and you’ll probably run into bugs that make you want to alt-f4. It’s that 'indie-dev-did-this-mostly-solo' level of rough. You won’t find a massive meta-wiki or tons of guides either. It’s a hidden gem or a hidden headache, depending on the day. For a small project, it’s got soul, but don’t expect it to feel as smooth as Hearthstone Battlegrounds. It’s a 6/10 for me. Totally playable if you like the genre, but the edges will cut you.

Verdict
If you’re a hardcore autobattler fan who’s exhausted everything else on Steam, grab it for $7.99. It’s cheap enough to risk, and the core loop is solid. But if you want a polished, AAA experience like TFT, skip it and wait for more updates.
