What is The Town is Overrun?
Imagine defending your town from aliens, only to realize they’re cloning your elderly relatives to build their army. It sounds insane, but The Town is Overrun leans into this weird humor with a straightforward tower defense loop that actually delivers some genuine laughs.

Gameplay
You’re defending a run-down town from relentless aliens, but here’s the kicker: they’re cloning Grandma and Grandpa to build their army. It’s weird, it’s funny, and it gives the game a personality that most generic tower defense titles just don’t have. You build towers, upgrade them, and try not to let the wave leak through. If you’ve played Kingdom Rush, you’ll feel right at home here. The loop is satisfying enough, and the cloned senior citizens enemies add a layer of absurdity that keeps you engaged. That said, it’s definitely an indie project with some rough edges. Since it’s still in the demo stage with a full release slated for Oct 16, 2026, you’ll notice some polish is missing. It’s a bit janky in spots, but for a first-time dev project, it’s actually holding up well. It’s not trying to be a complex sim; it just wants to be a fun, quirky defense game. You won’t find Defense Grid levels of deep strategy here, just the chaos of fighting clone grandmas.

Verdict
If you’re bored and want something free to kill an hour, grab the demo. It’s a solid start with a unique twist, but wait for the 2026 full release if you need tight polish. Skip it if you want deep strategic complexity, but jump in if you just want to laugh at clone grandmas.
