What is Pixelords?

A refreshing, gridless co-op autobattler that trades RNG gambling for puzzle-like strategic prepping.

If you're bored of the same old drafting loops, you've gotta try Pixelords. It's a co-op roguelite autobattler where you stack blessings and deploy units to survive endless floors of enemies.

Gameplay

You're diving into a roguelite loop where you deploy units and stack blessings to survive increasingly brutal floors. Unlike the rigid grids you'll find in Teamfight TFT or Underlords, Pixelords lets you place your units anywhere on the battlefield. It's a small change that totally flips how you handle spacing and positioning. You've got 10 elements and 35 units to work with, but the real game happens in the prep phase. You spend your time reading the enemy's comp and stacking blessings to counter them, making it feel more like a puzzle than a gamble for 3-stars.

The real draw is the 4-player co-op Trials. Most autobattlers are lonely 'me vs. the world' experiences, but fighting through endless floors with your squad makes the building process feel way more impactful. Since it's free-to-play, there's no barrier to entry, though you'll notice it's a smaller indie project from BBokGames. It doesn't have a high-budget sheen, and the UI can feel clunky. Because it's cross-platform on Steam and Mobile, some menus feel like they're trying to please everyone and end up feeling a bit awkward. If you want a polished, AAA experience, this isn't it, but the core loop of prepping and surviving is addictive.

Verdict

I'm giving this a 7.5/10. It's a great shout for groups who want a low-risk Friday night game, but skip it if you can't handle unpolished indie menus.
