Imagine if a cozy tavern sim and a brutal dungeon crawler had a baby, but that baby was an incremental game. You run a pub to trick heroes into entering your basement of doom so you can steal their souls. It's a weird, addictive loop that's honestly a blast.
Gameplay
You're basically running a front for a murder basement. The core loop is a wild mix of tavern sim and dungeon crawler where you serve ale and display treasure to lure adventurers inside. Once they're comfortable, you send them into the deadly dungeon you've built underneath to kill them and harvest their souls. It's a delightfully evil cycle that keeps you glued to the screen.
If you're coming from Teamfight Tactics or Hearthstone Battlegrounds, forget about drafting against other players. This is an incremental game, so it's more of a 'set it and forget it' vibe. You'll spend your time balancing the front of house drinks with the back of house digging and trap placement. The strategy comes from how you build your rooms to maximize the soul harvest.
Since it's a demo, you'll definitely hit some rough edges. It's not a polished AAA experience and there are some QoL issues. The dev, Tanner Maxwell, has even joked about bugs in the patch notes, saying 'Thats not what I meant by idle game...'. On the bright side, recent updates have made room building feel snappier, which helps the flow.
