First Impressions: Domignomes Demo

A weird, free physics-roguelite where you build 'pots' of gnomes to trigger massive, satisfying explosion chains.

Imagine if a physics puzzler and a roguelite deckbuilder had a baby that became obsessed with blowing stuff up. Domignomes Demo lets you trigger massive explosion chains using falling gnomes to clear the map in the most chaotic way possible.

Gameplay

You're not playing cards to deal damage here; you're basically playing a physics-based destruction sim. The core loop is all about 'pot-building.' You draw lines of falling gnomes to trigger massive explosion chains that wipe out plants and rocks. It's less about the math you'd find in Slay the Spire and more about spatial awareness. When you set up a chain correctly, it creates a cascade of booms that gives you that same dopamine hit as a perfect Balatro hand.

As you move through different biomes, you'll snag items that fundamentally change how your explosions behave. This is where the run variety kicks in. You're crafting a build that turns a simple drop into a ridiculous chain reaction. The meta-progression is light, but the thrill of seeing a screen clear in one go keeps you hitting restart.

Since it's a demo, it's definitely raw. You'll run into janky physics and a total lack of narrative depth. It doesn't try to be a complex tactical simulator; it's just pure, chaotic destruction. It's a simple system, and if you're looking for a deep story or polished mechanics, you won't find them here. But for a free experience, the loop is satisfying enough to ignore the rough edges.

First Impressions

This is a solid 7.5/10 for a demo. You should definitely try it since it's free, especially if you want something mindless to play while listening to a podcast. I'd love to see the physics polished up and more item synergies added before the full release.
