What is Age of the Fallen?

A chaotic, budget-friendly Bullet Heaven that swaps standard upgrades for a massive 500+ card deck system.

If you're tired of the usual turn-based slog and want a deckbuilder that actually moves, you need to try Age of the Fallen. It's a high-energy blend of a survivor-style Bullet Heaven and a massive card-driven kit system.

Gameplay

You're not playing a slow, turn-based card game here. Age of the Fallen is a 'Bullet Heaven' mashup where you fight endless hordes in real-time, but instead of basic level-ups, you're managing a deck of over 500 cards. You pick one of 10 heroes and dive in, using your cards to trigger devastating evolutions. The loop is all about power-scaling; it's less like the tactical patience of Slay the Spire and more like the chaotic, broken builds you find in Balatro. When you hit the right synergies, you basically become a god of destruction.

Between runs, you'll spend your time on meta-progression, unlocking heroes and refining your card pool so you don't get wiped in five minutes. The local co-op is a massive win, letting you combine attacks with a friend to clear the screen. At $3.99, it's a steal for the amount of content, though it's not without flaws. The biggest issue is visual clarity. Once you build a high-synergy deck, the screen becomes a wall of effects, and you'll honestly lose track of where your character even is. It's a bit rough around the edges, but the rush of watching thousands of enemies explode makes it work.

Verdict

Grab this if you love building broken combos and fast-paced action. If you hate visual clutter or prefer slow, methodical strategy, you should probably skip it. 8/10.
