What is Dimension Defenders?
Stop playing tower defenses where you just place a turret and wait. Dimension Defenders throws you into the fight with a hero you actually control, forcing you to adapt as your entire map shifts around you.
Gameplay
You're not just sitting back and watching towers shoot things here. You control a hero who actually runs the battlefield, fighting enemies and plugging holes in your line when things get dicey. It's way more active than Bloons; if your defenses are collapsing, you dive in yourself to save the run. You'll tackle 15 different dimensions, but don't get too comfortable with your layout. The dimension shifting mechanic is a total gut-punch because you lose your built defenses when you shift, which stops you from just cheesing the game with one god build.
If you're feeling competitive, the 1v1 ranked mode with a global ELO ladder is where it gets sweaty. Otherwise, you can just chill in 2-player co-op. At $8.99, it's a paid indie title in a space often flooded with free-to-play junk, but the value is there if you like the action. Just be warned that it's a solo project from Chromatik, so it feels a bit 'beta' in spots. The hero abilities have a steep learning curve that might frustrate you at first, and it's definitely got some rough edges since it's still in Early Access. It's basically Kingdom Rush but with the action cranked up to eleven. I'd give it a solid 8/10.

Grab this if you want a high-energy TD that rewards active play and competition. If you hate losing your progress or can't stand Early Access jank, you should probably wait for a few more patches.
