What is Cosmic Crossover?
Imagine if Slay the Spire had a baby with an NBA 2K simulation, and then that baby was raised by aliens. It's a weird, wild roguelike basketball sim where you coach a cosmic squad to victory.

Gameplay
You aren't playing a sports game; you're the coach of a ragtag squad of mutants, robots, and aliens. Your core loop is managing a 5v5 simulated season quarter-by-quarter using a deck of cards. You spend your time drafting players and equipping them with sci-fi gear, but the real magic is in the cosmic relics. When you stack the right relics, you get that same 'god mode' feeling as Balatro. You might find a combo where a mutant's steal buffs a robot's three-pointer, and suddenly the game breaks in your favor.
Run variety is high because your roster changes every time, meaning you can't just lean on one meta strategy. The progression is all about climbing the ranks to challenge The King for the Galactic Cup. At $5.99, it's a steal for the amount of addiction it offers, but it's definitely an indie project. EJ Applications left some rough edges here. The UI is clunky, and since it's a simulation, the RNG can feel like it's cheating you on a game-winning shot. It's not a AAA sports experience, but as a card game in a jersey, it hits the dopamine buttons perfectly.

Verdict
Grab this if you want a fresh, weird deckbuilder that lets you break the game. Skip it if you can't handle clunky UI or RNG-heavy simulations. It's an 8/10 that's well worth the six bucks.
