What is Flowers and Deities?

A brutal lizardkin deckbuilder where you must spill blood to cast spells.

Imagine if you took the lizardmen from Total War and shoved them into a brutal, blood-soaked arena deckbuilder. That's Flowers and Deities, a roguelite where you trade gore for god-tier spells.

Gameplay

You're leading a blood-soaked lizardkin army through arena battles, and the core loop is all about violence. Forget standard mana; you spend 'spilled blood' to cast spells and summon creatures. It's a tense rhythm because you have to deal damage just to afford your big plays. If you don't play aggressively, you're dead. You'll pick from four different origins and faiths at the start, which completely shifts how you build your deck and combine units with divine blessings.

It's not as polished as Slay the Spire, but the run variety is promising. You've got meta-progression to keep you hooked and a Custom Battle mode for testing broken combos. At $12.99, it's a fair price for the depth, but keep in mind it's still in a beta/demo state. The UI is clunky and the learning curve is a steep cliff. You'll likely spend your first few runs scratching your head while your army gets wiped. Once the mechanics click, though, it's a blast.

What Players Say

Players are loving the hardcore strategy and the joy of 'smashing lizards into each other in columns'. While some call it a gem, others admit the start is rough, with one player noting 'I didn't have an easy time understanding what was going on'. Most find a single campaign run takes about five hours, though you can speed through it if you're efficient.

This is a great first impression for fans of high-stakes combat and resource management. If you love hardcore strategy, try the demo, but if you hate clunky UIs and steep learning curves, wait for the full release to see if they smooth out the edges.
