What is Beast Market - Homestead Charter?
Ever want a game you can basically ignore for eight hours and then come back to feeling like a genius? Beast Market is a strange blend of idle hunting and market flipping that turns monster loot into a business strategy.
Gameplay
Don't go looking for Teamfight Tactics here. This isn't a tactical board game; it's an AFK hunting RPG mixed with a stock market simulator. Your hunters just go out and slay things automatically while you're doing other stuff. The real game happens when you log back in and hit the Market Terminal to check material prices and decide which beast to hunt based on what's actually selling. It turns the loot grind into a business strategy that'll satisfy you if you love that 'number go up' feeling of idle games.
Then you've got the Homestead Charter DLC. For $1.99, it's basically a quality-of-life patch. You get two additional farm plots and your per-material storage jumps from 200 to 300. It doesn't make you stronger and it won't change your monster drop rates. It just means you don't have to micromanage your inventory as often. It's a weird pricing model for a Free To Play game, but it's a small fee to stop the inventory headache.
It's definitely rough around the edges. The loop is incredibly niche, and if you aren't into trading loot on the Steam Community Market, there's not much here to keep you hooked. It's a great 'second monitor' game to run while you're working or watching YouTube, but don't expect deep combat strategy. It's more of a management tool for your digital monster-meat empire. I'd give it a 6/10.
