A free, pixel-art roguelike where you customize beast abilities with cards to create broken, steamrolling builds.

Imagine if you could take a squad of pixel-art monsters and actually program their attacks using a deck of cards. That's Deck Beasts, a weirdly addictive blend of a deck-builder and an autobattler where the goal is to create a totally broken build.

Gameplay

You're basically diving into a pixel-art warp to build a squad of beasts that can absolutely steamroll the competition. The core loop is all about drafting monsters and then teaching them abilities using cards, which is where the real magic happens. Unlike TFT where you're just praying for a specific unit to spawn in the shop, you're actively customizing how your monsters fight. You'll grab relics, equip items, and try to hit 10 wins before you lose 4 hearts.

It feels more like a roguelike than a traditional competitive autobattler. You fight 'ghost teams' from other players, so you get that PvP vibe without the stress of a live lobby. Compared to Hearthstone Battlegrounds, it's way less about shop RNG and way more about the actual build. You're experimenting to see how broken you can make your team.

Since it's a demo, it's definitely lean. The player count is tiny right now and you'll feel that indie roughness. It's not a polished experience yet, but the satisfaction of finding a beast and giving it a crazy ability makes the rough edges easy to ignore for a bit. It's free to try, so there's zero risk in messing around with it.

First Impressions

I'm giving this a 7/10 for now. If you love breaking games with overpowered builds, you should definitely grab this free demo on Steam. Just skip it if you need a polished, high-population competitive experience, as this is still very much a work in progress.
