What is Arcanefall : Darklands?
Looking for a new way to blow up a thousand skeletons? Arcanefall: Darklands mashes together a dark fantasy vibe with survivor-like action to let you unleash chaotic magic on undead horrors. It's a cheap, addictive ride that's perfect for mindless grinding.

Gameplay
Don't go in expecting a board-builder like TFT or Hearthstone Battlegrounds. This isn't about drafting units; it's a survivor-like where you play a spellcaster fighting endless waves of undead. You'll spend your time focusing on positioning and your build while your spells auto-attack everything in sight. The loop is simple: fight, level up, grab a new spell or upgrade, and try not to get swarmed by horrors in a crumbling world.
It's basically Vampire Survivors with a dark fantasy skin and a heavy focus on class-based magic. You'll love the power fantasy of becoming a god of destruction by the 20-minute mark, but it doesn't reinvent the wheel. It's a smaller project by zak1aN, so it lacks AAA polish. The pixel art is fine, but you'll notice the UI feels clunky at times.
At $0.99, it's an unusual price point since many of these are free, but it's cheap enough that you won't care. It's a perfect second-monitor game to play while you're chatting or listening to a podcast. Just be aware that once you unlock the main gear, the depth is a bit shallow and you might hit a wall.

Verdict
I give it a 7/10. Grab this if you want a cheap, satisfying power trip, but skip it if you're looking for deep endgame systems or a polished AAA experience.
