What is Underkeep?
Imagine if a dungeon crawler was flipped on its head and you were the one designing the death trap. Underkeep lets you play as the final boss, building a labyrinth to stop adventurers from ever reaching your core.

Gameplay
Forget placing towers and watching them shoot like you do in Bloons. In Underkeep, you're the final boss, and the goal is to keep 'heroes' away from your core. You'll spend your time digging corridors, placing monsters, and setting traps to turn your lair into a lethal maze. The real hook is the 'read, rebuild, survive' rhythm. You get a heads-up on exactly who's coming in the next wave, which lets you tactically redesign your layout to mess with their pathing before they even step foot inside.
It's a fresh twist on the genre, but it's still a bit lean. Since it's in the demo phase, you'll notice some rough edges. The loop is addictive, but the depth is limited right now. You aren't getting a massive, state-of-the-art epic here, but the core simulation of being a dungeon architect is solid. At $3.99, it's a cheap entry point, though you're mostly paying for a concept that needs more meat on its bones to truly compete with the all-time classics.

Verdict
8.5/10. If you love the idea of being the bad guy and designing a maze of monsters, you'll have a blast. If you need a polished, content-heavy experience with deep systems, you might want to wait for the full release to see if they add more meat to the bone.
