What is Between Adventures IDLE?

A fair, no-microtransaction idle RPG that trades story and tactics for a satisfying gear-grinding loop.

Looking for something to keep running in the background while you work or play other games? Between Adventures IDLE is a weirdly addictive loop of hunting creatures, enchanting gear, and building a hero without the constant pressure of competitive drafting.

Gameplay

You're not drafting units or fighting in lobbies like you do in TFT or Battlegrounds. This is a menu-based autobattler where you set your build and let your hero scrap away while you're AFK. The loop's simple: gather resources, master your skills, forge gear, and hunt bigger monsters. You've got 11 skills to level up, but the real brainpower goes into the crafting. You'll be managing a multi-tier rarity system and using enchantment stones to make your build actually viable. It's all about that dopamine hit of coming back after four hours to find a mountain of loot and a new legendary sword.

Since it's in Early Access, expect some rough edges. The UI's clean, but you'll run into balancing issues the devs are still ironing out. It's priced at $7.99, which is weird for an idle game since most are free-to-play. However, you're paying for the lack of greed. There are zero microtransactions and no pay-to-win mechanics. You won't see any 'buy gems to speed up the forge' pop-ups here. It's pure progression, though the story is a total snooze-fest. You aren't playing this for the plot; you're playing it to optimize your resource loops. If you want a tactical combat sim, you'll be disappointed, but for a background game, it clicks.

What Players Say

People are getting hooked on the grind, with some players waiting hours for the release and spending entire days in the demo. One player described the addictive loop of needing a better sword for goblins, which requires copper, which requires a better pickaxe, which requires wood, essentially saying it's 'very similar' to Melvor Idle. While some love the long-haul grind, others find the story 'incredibly generic'.

Grab this if you love the 'no P2W' vibe and want a satisfying background grind. Skip it if you need a deep story or complex tactical combat, as the narrative is a snooze-fest and the systems are relatively simple. 6.5/10.
