What is Spirit Route?
Stop sitting still and start moving. Spirit Route throws out the static map and forces you to build the road while escorting your base to safety in a high-stakes strategy trip.

Gameplay
You've probably played a million TDs where you just sit back and wait for enemies to hit your wall. Spirit Route flips that. You're escorting a Spirit Nexus to a destination, which means your base is actually moving. You aren't just dropping towers; you're placing tiles to literally build the road as you go. It's a weird mix of a survival road trip and path manipulation. If you've played Defense Grid, you'll get the vibe of reshaping the battlefield, but it's way more stressful because your Nexus is crawling forward into danger.
To keep things from getting stale, you've got random shop choices and unique Nexus abilities. This stops you from just using the same build every run and forces you to pivot your strategy on the fly. It's a tight loop that makes you think fast, though it's definitely not a 40-hour epic yet. Since it's in Early Access, you'll notice it's a bit lean on content and lacks that polished triple-A shine.
Then there's the balancing. You'll likely hit some walls with the 'Berserk Waves' that feel a bit off. At $9.99, you're paying for a promising indie project from Curious Forge that still has some rough edges to iron out. It's a fair price for the concept, but you're definitely buying into a work-in-progress. If you can handle some Early Access bugs, the core loop is addictive enough to justify the cost.

Verdict
I'm giving this a 7/10. Grab it if you're bored of static maps and love messing with enemy paths, but skip it if you can't stand Early Access bugs or need a massive campaign.
