First Impressions: Sangokushi BOND Demo

A solid, free roguelite twist on the autobattler genre that swaps multiplayer sweat for a deep, single-player tactical draft.

Ever wanted a Three Kingdoms autobattler that actually cares about strategy over fast fingers? You should check out the Sangokushi BOND demo. It's a fast-paced deck-builder where you draft legendary warlords and let your tactics do the talking.

Gameplay

You're basically diving into a Three Kingdoms-themed tactical puzzle. Forget fighting a lobby of seven other people like in TFT; this is a single-player roguelite deck-builder. Your whole game revolves around the 'Full Draft System.' You'll pull generals from a randomized pool and try to piece together a winning army on the fly. It's awesome because you can't just memorize a meta build and breeze through. You've gotta adapt to whatever the game throws at you, or you'll get crushed. The battles are quick, 10-minute clashes where you just watch your tactics unfold, which is a breath of fresh air if you're tired of the pay-to-win junk usually found in Three Kingdoms games.

Since it's a demo, you're only getting 14 stages. It's a tight slice of the game, and that's where you'll notice the jank. The UI feels stiff and clunky in spots, and it's clear the devs are still sanding down the edges. As one player put it, "the strategic depth is there, but it needs more polish." I'm with them on that. It's not a AAA experience yet, but the bones are solid. If you love the build-and-test loop of Hearthstone Battlegrounds but want a solo roguelite vibe, you'll probably get hooked. I'm giving the demo a 7/10. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it's honest, pure strategy. Just keep in mind you're stuck with these few stages until the full release in Summer 2026.
