What is Red Rocket Defencism?
Imagine a tower defense game where you're a paranoid Soviet-style officer protecting rockets from capitalists. It's a chaotic, satirical mix of base building and unit management that's honestly funny as hell. You've gotta check out Red Rocket Defencism if you want something weird and punchy.

Gameplay
You're a military officer for East Varnakia, and your only job is to stop capitalists from blowing up your precious rockets. It's not a pure autobattler like TFT, but it hits that same itch because you're constantly recruiting and brainwashing soldiers to hold the line. The core loop is simple: you build your base, bribe or purge your way to better units, and pray your defenses don't crumble when the wave hits. You'll spend your time managing a paranoid military state where the end justifies the means, which gives the game a dark, satirical edge that actually works.
Since it's currently in a demo phase, you'll hit a wall pretty quickly. There's only about 30 minutes of content right now, so don't expect a deep dive into long-term progression. It's definitely an indie project from Tiny Cactus Studio, and you'll feel that in the polish. It's a bit janky, and there's a reason the Steam page has a dedicated bug report thread.
As for the value, the full game is listed at $7.99. That's a bit unusual for a genre that's often free-to-play, but for a focused indie strategy experience, it's a fair ask if the final version adds more depth. Right now, it's a quick, chaotic blast, but you're mostly just scratching the surface of the systems. If you're looking for a hundred hours of meta-gaming, this isn't it yet. It's more of a bite-sized experiment in 'revolutionary' defense.

What Players Say
Players are loving the snarky tone and the soundtrack, with some finding it 'hilarious and addictive'. One person even managed to take down the final boss using a stack of posters, while others who usually hate strategy games found themselves hooked. Most are just shouting 'all glory to Varnakia!' and laughing at the absurdity of the setting.

Grab the free demo if you want a quick 30-minute break with a great concept. It's perfect for people who like strategy games that don't take themselves seriously, but wait for the full release if you need AAA polish and actual depth. I want to see if the full version can sustain this humor beyond the initial gimmick.
