What is Private Mining Company?
Imagine a tower defense game where your units aren't just disposable pawns, but veterans you have to actually extract to keep alive. Private Mining Company blends traditional defense with high-stakes resource management and permanent death on alien worlds.

Gameplay
You aren't just placing towers and watching them work; you're managing a mercenary outfit on alien planets. The core loop is a tense balance: you crank up the mining drills to make more cash, but that noise attracts more bugs. It's a high-stakes gamble where you've got to decide if the extra credits are worth the risk of getting overrun. Unlike Bloons TD, where you just lose a few lives, this game uses permadeath. If your soldiers die, they're gone for good. You'll spend your time fighting contracts and then rushing to extract your survivors so you can upgrade your army and tackle harder missions.
Progression feels rewarding because you're actually building a veteran squad, but the pressure is constant. It's less about building the perfect maze and more about resource management and survival. However, it's not all smooth sailing. Since it's a solo project by Alex Lavoie, there are definitely some rough edges. The flow between waves feels clunky and a bit 'early access.' It's a bit janky in spots, but the risk-reward loop keeps you coming back for one more contract. At $7.99, it's a paid entry in a genre often dominated by free-to-play titles, but the unique extraction twist justifies the price for most TD fans.

Verdict
I'm giving this a 7/10. It's a great pick for TD veterans who find the genre too easy and want real stakes, but if you can't stand janky, early-access feeling menus and permadeath, you should probably skip it.
