Gameplay
You're not just sitting back and watching towers do the work here. Neuville Demo hits you with a day/night cycle that forces you to actually move. During the day, you're exploring the map tile-by-tile and clearing the fog of war to scavenge for resources. If you just hang out in your base, you're cooked because you have to earn your upgrades through exploration. It's a 'scavenge or die' loop that makes the game feel more like a survivalist struggle than something like Bloons TD.
Once the sun goes down, the AI sends waves of robots to tear your defenses apart. The tension is real, especially when you're one tile away from a resource node you desperately need and the clock runs out. Some versions even mix in card-deck mechanics, which adds a layer of RNG that keeps you guessing. You aren't just managing a budget; you're managing your time and how well you know the map.
Since it's a demo, you'll definitely feel the rough edges. It's janky and lacks the buttery smoothness of a polished title like Kingdom Rush. The polish isn't there yet, and the community is basically a ghost town on Steam. It's a scrappy experience, but the core loop of building and exploring is addictive enough to keep you playing despite the friction.
