What is Mendicant Sea?
Imagine if Lobotomy Corp had a baby with a creature battler. You’re managing a five-floor containment facility, raising 200 strange PTF species, and then sending them into combat. It’s a wild hybrid that feels nothing like TFT or Battlegrounds. If you want something that actually feels different, this might be your next obsession.

Gameplay
You’re not rolling dice for units in a shared shop. You’re running a five-floor containment facility for 200 strange PTF species. The loop is weirdly addictive. You manifest creatures, study their weird needs, and manage your staff to keep the place from imploding. It feels like Lobotomy Corp met a creature battler. When containment fails, you take those specific creatures into 1v1 or 3v3 Containment Combat. Your success in the fight ties directly to how well you managed the pet side. It’s a cool hybrid. But be warned, it’s rough. The UI is clunky and disjointed. It’s very much an indie passion project. Some parts feel janky, and the transition between management and combat can drag. You won’t get a polished AAA experience here. It’s raw, but the ambition is huge.

Verdict
It’s a 7/10 for sheer creativity, but the price tag feels steep for an early access title with a clunky UI. If you love niche hybrids and don’t mind jank, it’s worth a try. If you want polished, free-to-play autobattlers, skip it and wait for a later update.
