What is Claws Of Power?

A cute, low-stress card-battler mashup that's more about hand management than complex maze building.

Imagine a tower defense game where your towers are actually adorable cat cards you play in real-time. Claws of Power mashes card-battling with strategy to let you fight for the throne in a weirdly addictive way.

Gameplay

You've gotta stop thinking about this as a traditional 'place a tower and wait' game like Kingdom Rush. Claws of Power is actually a real-time card battler. You'll spend your time building decks of cute cat fighters and dropping them into the fray to claim the throne. It's less about building the perfect maze and way more about managing your hand and timing your plays to stop the waves.

The loop is surprisingly tight. You recruit new cat cards, tweak your deck, and upgrade your base. It's got that 'just one more round' vibe because you're always hunting for that one specific card that'll break the current wave. However, it's an indie project and it shows. The UI gets clunky when the screen gets chaotic, and it doesn't have the polished depth you'll find in Bloons TD.

At $6.99, it's a fair price for a few hours of fun, but be warned that the strategy can feel shallow. If you're a hardcore TD veteran, you'll probably breeze through it too quickly. It feels a bit like those mobile card-strategy games, but the art style keeps it fresh. It's a low-stress experience, but don't expect a grueling tactical challenge.

Verdict

I'd give it a 7/10. It's perfect for cat lovers and casual strategy fans, but hardcore tacticians should skip it due to the simple systems. Grab the Steam demo first to see if the card mechanics click for you.
