What is BraveYard 勇者之墓?

A cheap, addictive skill-builder where you mix runes and job changes to create an overpowered 'grass-cutting' build.

If you're bored of the same old 'play card, attack enemy' loop, you need to check out BraveYard. It's a fast-paced blend of a roguelike and a skill-builder that lets you create absolutely broken combat styles.

Gameplay

You're not just playing cards here; you're building a combat style using active skills and auxiliary runes. Instead of the slow 'play card, wait for turn' rhythm of Slay the Spire, this feels like a high-speed skill-builder. You've got 11 characters to choose from, and the real magic happens when you switch jobs to unlock additive skills that flip your playstyle on its head. The loop is all about chasing that one broken synergy. You'll find gear that gives a 20% boost to specific attributes, which usually means you'll scrap your entire plan just to lean into a piece of loot that makes one skill absolutely lethal.

Meta-progression is standard roguelike stuff—you'll unlock more runes and skills as you go—but the variety stays high because of how the gear interacts with your build. It's a power fantasy where you start as a nobody and end up mowing through everything. At $3.99, it's a steal for the amount of experimentation you get, though you've got to keep in mind it's in Early Access. The UI is clunky and the polish isn't quite there yet. It's a pixel-art game that cares way more about the math and the combat than any cinematic story, so don't expect a deep plot.

If you love the feeling of breaking an RPG with a weird build but want the fast pace of a roguelike, you'll be hooked. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but the way it handles skill-synergy makes it addictive as hell, even with the rough edges.

Verdict

Grab this if you love building broken RPG characters and don't mind some Early Access clunkiness. If you need a polished UI or a deep story to stay interested, you should probably wait until it leaves EA. My score: 7.5/10.
