What is 白蛇之子 | The Son of White Snake: Roguelike Deckbuilder?
Imagine if Slay the Spire had a baby with a cosmic horror novel set in ancient China. You're diving into a dark, moody descent where the tower you're exploring is actually a living, breathing monster.

Gameplay
You're descending into the Leifeng Pagoda, but it's not a building—it's actually the gullet of a giant, breathing serpent. The core loop revolves around forging 'card-relic engines' where your gear and cards feed into each other. You'll spend your runs hunting for specific synergies to turn your deck into a broken machine, which feels great if you love that 'game-breaking' power trip. While the combat has that familiar Slay the Spire DNA, the exploration leans closer to Ring of Pain.
Variety is solid, but the real draw is the 4-player co-op. Coordinating builds with friends is a huge win since most deckbuilders are lonely affairs. You've also got Steam Workshop support to reshape the tower yourself. At $9.99, it's a fair price for the depth provided, but keep in mind it's still in Early Access. You'll hit some rough edges; the enemy intent reading is clunky and the pacing on early floors can really drag. It's not buttery smooth yet, but the bones are definitely there.

Verdict
I'm giving this a 7.5/10. It's a must-try for people tired of generic fantasy tropes who want a gothic twist, but if you can't stand clunky Early Access pacing, you should probably wait for the 2026 full release.
