First Impressions: Tile & Tiny Demo

A clever, puzzle-driven roguelike autobattler where tile placement is everything.

Forget drafting units and hoping for a lucky roll. Tile & Tiny Demo is a pixel-art roguelike where you build a puzzle-like board of tiles to trigger insane combos and crush bosses. It's a weirdly addictive twist on the autobattler genre that's free to play right now.

Gameplay

You've probably played a dozen autobattlers where you just draft the strongest unit and hope for the best. Tile & Tiny flips that on its head. Instead of units, you're buying and placing Tiles on a map. The real hook is the puzzle element; you've got to place specific tiles next to each other to trigger synergies and break the game. It's less about raw power and more about how you build your board to create massive combos.

The loop is tight and rhythmic. You spend your mornings prepping your board and buying tiles, then you fight through the days. Every five days—Day 5, 10, 15, and 20—you hit a boss wall. If your synergies aren't dialed in by then, you're toast. It's a solo, roguelike experience that'll make you say 'one more run' as you try to figure out the perfect layout.

Since it's a demo, it's definitely lean. You'll notice some rough edges and a lack of polish that comes with an early build. It's not reinventing the wheel, but the tile-placement twist keeps it fresh. It's free to try, which makes the experimental nature easy to swallow, but don't expect a massive, polished multiplayer brawl here. It's a focused, single-player brain teaser.
