What is There Is No Lore?
Stop looking for a story because there isn't one. There Is No Lore is a weird, addictive cocktail of a roguelite deckbuilder and an autobattler that cares more about mechanics than world-building.
Gameplay
You're basically engineering a combat machine. The loop is simple: collect cards, build your decks, and slap on trinkets to tweak your stats before hitting play to see if your setup actually works. You'll fight for locations and try to take down bosses in a roguelite format. It's not like TFT where you're pivoting your board every three rounds; it's more of a 'set it and forget it' vibe. You'll spend your time hunting for those specific synergies that let you break the game with a broken build.
The progression is where it gets interesting. Unlike Hearthstone Battlegrounds, you've got a roguelike layer where you unlock new base decks, and the 'decks within decks' mechanic adds some real complexity. It keeps the game from feeling like a clone of everything else in the genre. You'll keep coming back just to see how far a weird trinket combo can take you before the RNG decides you've had enough.
It's not all smooth sailing, though. Little Flea Studios is an indie dev, and it shows. The UI gets clunky when you're digging through trinket menus, and you'll hit some frustrating walls where the RNG just hates you. Also, keep in mind this costs $17.99. Most autobattlers are free-to-play, so you're paying a premium for the roguelite progression and the indie charm. It's a fair price if you love the genre, but it's a hurdle if you're used to free games.
