What is SORTALIS?

It’s a dice-building simulator that turns Farkle into a probability-hacking engine, offering a fresh, addictive loop despite its unfinished 2026 state.

If you’re burnt out on the standard draw-and-play deckbuilder loop, Sortalis is the palate cleanser you didn’t know you needed. It takes the classic push-your-luck tension of Farkle and lets you hack the math to build a machine that cheats probability itself.

Gameplay

You’re not playing a traditional card game here; you’re hacking a dice-rolling engine based on Farkle. The core loop is pure push-your-luck adrenaline. You roll six dice, set aside scoring combos, and risk it all by rolling again for bigger points. But Sortalis flips the script: you aren't just praying for luck. You’re building a machine. You spend your winnings on Charms, swap out dice materials, and literally engrave faces onto your dice to manipulate probability. It feels like that cracked Joker combo moment in Balatro, but with d6s. The synergy hits hard when you turn honest starting dice into chain-reaction monsters. However, the House changes the rules every run, forcing you to pivot rather than riding one broken build to victory. The pixel art is charming but clearly unfinished, so expect a learning curve and some rough edges as you figure out the engravings and Charms.

Verdict

Put this on your wishlist if you love optimization games like Balatro or Monster Train but want a dice-based twist. Skip it if you need a polished, finished product right now, as the unfinished state and steep learning curve will frustrate casual players. Wait for the full release in 2026 to see if the depth justifies the $9.99 price tag.
