What is SCOP?
SCOP takes the classic Italian card game Scopa and drags it kicking and screaming into a roguelite setting. It’s a weird mix of old-school mechanics and modern deckbuilding, but it actually works. If you want a fresh take on capturing cards instead of just dealing damage, this is worth your time.

Gameplay
SCOP drags the traditional Italian card game Scopa into a roguelite setting, and honestly, it works. Your core loop isn't just about playing cards to deal damage; it’s about capturing cards from the table to clear the board. You’ll build combos by manipulating those captures, aiming to boost your 'Base' and 'Mult' stats. This scaling feels remarkably similar to Balatro in how satisfyingly your numbers go up. You’ll collect relics, face off against Blinds and bosses, and shape your deck to handle each encounter. The run variety is solid, keeping you hitting 'one more run' even if it doesn't quite reach the depth of Slay the Spire yet. The distinct rhythm clicks once you get past the initial hurdle.

Verdict
Is it a masterpiece? Not yet. But is it worth your time? Absolutely. If you're bored of the same three deckbuilder tropes, give this a shot. Just be prepared to scratch your head for the first twenty minutes while you learn the rules, and don't expect the polish of a AAA title.
