What is Operation: Outbreak Idle?
If you love watching numbers skyrocket while everything on screen explodes, you've gotta try Operation: Outbreak Idle. It's a casual, automated defense game where you build a military fortress to hold back massive undead hordes.

Gameplay
You're not doing the typical Kingdom Rush thing here where you sweat over maze paths. Instead, you're managing a single fortress, slapping on military modules, and trying to stop zombie hordes from breaching your walls. The loop's simple: kill zombies, grab resources, buy upgrades, and repeat. It's a total numbers game. You'll spend most of your time optimizing your build to create a literal wall of lead, always feeling like you're just one upgrade away from shredding the next wave.
Since it's an idler, it's less about strategy and more about efficiency. You can leave it running in the background while you do other stuff and still feel like you're making progress. However, you'll definitely hit those classic idle walls where progress slows to a crawl and you're forced to grind. It's satisfying, but as one player noted, 'the pacing can feel a bit uneven once you hit the mid-game.'
At $4.99, it's a bit odd to pay upfront for an idle game when most are free-to-play, but it gets you away from some of the worst mobile tropes. Just know it's derivative. It leans hard into idle RPG tropes and doesn't reinvent the wheel. It's a 7/10 for me because it scratches that TD itch without requiring a PhD in tower placement, even if the UI feels clunky.

Verdict
“The game is fine. Pretty typical incremental game that doesn't do anything particularly special. As of release day not all levels are available and the monster truck doesn't work. The UI is kind of cl…”
Grab this if you want a low-stress idler to run in the background. Skip it if you want deep strategy or a polished, finished product, as the current bugs and shallow systems might annoy you.
