What is Mythmon: Mythic Monsters?

A quirky, gear-heavy monster brawler that trades board-game strategy for a satisfying loot-and-level grind.

If you're bored of the same old board-game layouts and want to scratch that auto-battler itch, you've gotta try Mythmon: Mythic Monsters. It's a weird, addictive mix of a monster collector and a tactical brawler that lets you build a powerhouse squad to smash the Demon King.

Gameplay

You're building a squad of Mythmon to take down the Demon King, but it's less like a chess match in TFT and more like a tactical brawler. Your main loop is all about the prep: you've got 30 unique monsters to manage, over 140 pieces of gear to hunt for, and traits to pick as your team levels up. Once you've tweaked your formations, you just let loose and watch the hack-and-slash action unfold. It's a satisfying 'build a powerhouse' vibe that makes you actually care about your roster.

That said, the progression has some serious friction. You'll find that experience is basically just stage progress in disguise, since you can't level past the highest stage you've cleared. This turns the game into a loot grind pretty quickly. It's also a paid title at $7.99, which is weird for an autobattler since most are free-to-play. You're paying for a smaller, indie experience, so don't expect the polish of a giant studio. It's a bit janky and rough around the edges, but the monster-taming hook keeps it moving.

Key Features

What Players Say

Opinions are split on this one. Some love the vibe, saying it feels like a 'really unique' hidden gem from the PS2 era. Others aren't buying it, calling the game 'deeply ugly' with a bad UI and obvious store-bought assets. There's also a big gripe about the level structure, with one player noting that the XP system is just a disguise for stage progress, which makes the whole thing feel like a tedious loot grind.

I'd give it a 7.5/10. It's for you if you love collecting monsters and kitting them out with gear, but skip it if you can't stand unpolished UI or pay-to-play indie titles. Just be ready for some jank.
