Gameplay
You're the Demon King, and your only job is to stop Sun Wukong from wrecking your place. It's a reverse Journey to the West where you play the villain. You'll spend your time drafting monsters and placing 24 magic traps to protect your Demon Throne across 10 escalating stages. It's a weird, satisfying blend of a roguelite tower defense and an autobattler. Unlike TFT, you aren't fighting other people in a lobby; you're building a death trap to survive a relentless onslaught.
The loop clicks because you're managing a bottleneck rather than just a board. You tweak your layout, draft the right units, and then sit back to watch the chaos unfold. It borrows that 'draft and watch' feel from the genre, but the tower defense twist keeps it fresh. It's the kind of game you play as a palate cleanser when you're burnt out on high-stress competitive grinds.
Since it's a demo, you'll run into some rough edges. The UI is unpolished and it lacks the bells and whistles of a AAA title. It's an indie project from a small publisher, so don't expect perfection. The systems are a bit derivative, but the core idea of defending your throne is solid enough to keep you hooked for a few hours.
