What is Grurong Random Defense?
Grurong Random Defense is a chaotic indie tower defense where you summon random squads to survive 100 waves of enemies. It’s a total gamble with nine unit ranks, and if you don’t pull the rare stuff, you’re praying for a miracle. The stress is real, but the loop is addictively tense.

Gameplay
Grurong Random Defense from PlayBear is a chaotic little indie gem that throws the traditional tower defense playbook out the window. Instead of carefully placing optimized towers, you summon a random squad to hold the line against 100 waves of enemies. It’s a total gamble because there are nine unit ranks, and pulling the rare, high-rank stuff is your only hope for survival. If you don't get those rare units, you're basically praying for a miracle and making do with whatever the RNG throws at you. The tension spikes instantly because the fail state is brutal: let 80 enemies pile up on the field, and it’s game over. No second chances. You have to upgrade your units mid-run to stay alive, which adds a frantic layer of management on top of the randomness. Between runs, you level up your squad to make future pulls slightly less painful, but the core loop remains pure, unfiltered stress. It feels rough around the edges, and the UI isn't exactly modern, but that roughness is part of the charm. It’s an addictive loop that keeps you coming back, even when you’re losing your mind.

Verdict
Grurong Random Defense is worth the $3.99 price tag if you want something that actually makes you sweat over a random pull, unlike the predictable nature of Bloons TD or Kingdom Rush. However, if you hate RNG or expect a polished, bug-free experience, you should skip it or wait for updates. It’s a solid 7/10 for the tension, but the lack of polish and shallow systems might drive you away.
