What is FACTORIZE: 1?
If you’re bored of the same old Slay the Spire clones and want something that actually makes you think, check out this weird little indie called FACTORIZE: 1. It’s a turn-based deckbuilding roguelite where you fight with the power of primes instead of traditional card effects. You’ll combine cards to create numbers and factorize your way to victory.

Gameplay
You’re looking at a weird little indie called FACTORIZE: 1, and honestly, it’s one of the most 'math-brained' deckbuilders I’ve touched. The core loop is simple but demanding: you aren’t just playing cards for damage; you’re assembling numbers. You look at an enemy’s number, then combine cards in your hand to build a value that beats them through factorization. The synergy is where it clicks. You’ve got specific primes that trigger different actions—2s for attacking, 3s for defending, and 5s for healing. You’re not fishing for a 'strike' card; you’re multiplying your way into the exact value needed to trigger a massive hit or a clutch heal. It feels a bit like Balatro in the sense that you’re hunting for specific mathematical combinations to break the game, but it’s much more about precision than just stacking multipliers. The meta-progression is there, but the real hook is that 'Aha!' moment when you realize exactly which cards to combine to delete a boss.

Verdict
I’d give it a 7.5/10. It’s a bit niche and the edges are definitely unpolished, but the core mechanic is genuinely fresh. If you want a puzzle-like deckbuilder, give the demo a shot, but skip it if you hate mental arithmetic or want a polished, hand-holding experience. Wait for the full release if you’re sensitive to rough UI or lack of depth in later runs.
