What is Bootlegger's Bar?
Forget slaying dragons—you're managing a secret speakeasy in Bootlegger's Bar. It's a weirdly addictive mix of a puzzle game and an incremental builder where your deck is your drink menu.

Gameplay
You aren't fighting monsters here; you're running an underground speakeasy. The core loop is simple: brew drinks, serve thirsty customers, make bank, and dump that cash back into better ingredients and gear. Your 'deck' is actually your inventory of spirits and mixers. You'll spend your time hunting for synergies between these ingredients to nail specific customer demands and maximize your payout. It's less like Slay the Spire and more like Balatro, where you're chasing that one broken combination of modifiers to make your profits absolutely skyrocket.
Run variety is decent, but the real draw is the meta-progression. You'll feel the shift as your tiny hole-in-the-wall evolves into a full-blown empire. However, it's not all smooth sailing. Since it started as a Godot Wild Jam project, you'll notice some 'jam game' energy. The UI feels clunky in a few spots, and you'll definitely hit a mid-game grind where the pacing drags. At $4.99, it's a fair price for the experience, but you're paying for a polished puzzle-incremental hybrid rather than a deep tactical sim. If you love optimizing systems until they're well-oiled machines, you'll find it addictive. If you need complex combat or high-fidelity polish, this isn't it.

Verdict
I'm giving this a 7/10. It's a perfect second-monitor game for people who love optimization, but skip it if you can't handle a clunky UI or a mid-game grind.
