What is AXIOMA?

AXIOMA has a fun science theme but suffers from rough UI, shallow progression, and a beta-like polish that makes it hard to recommend right now.

AXIOMA tries to spice up the deckbuilder genre by mixing card mechanics with science themes, but it feels like a rough draft rather than a polished hit. You get a standard roguelike loop, but the execution lacks the polish and depth that makes the genre shine. It’s a risky buy right now.

Gameplay

You’re looking at a science-themed roguelike where you build formulas and molecules instead of just slapping cards together. It’s got that classic Slay the Spire skeleton: pick a card, survive the fight, repeat. The twist is arranging science Jokers and refining your deck to tackle physics, chemistry, and math challenges. But honestly? The loop feels a bit derivative. You aren't finding any mind-bending synergies that fundamentally change how you think about deckbuilders. The run variety is there, but it lacks that addictive 'just one more turn' pull that Balatro has nailed. You’ll find yourself starting from scratch every time because the meta-progression is minimal. There’s no huge sense of permanent growth keeping you hooked. It’s functional, sure, but it doesn’t click the way the big hitters do.

Verdict

Save your money unless you’re a hardcore deckbuilder junkie who has played everything else and needs novelty. At $2.99, it’s cheap, but the rough edges and lack of depth make it hard to recommend. Wait for updates or stick to the classics for now.
