Gameplay
You aren't just placing towers from a menu like you do in Bloons; you're drawing character cards to build your defenses. It's a weird, cool mix of a tower defense game and a deck-builder where you've gotta manage resources and hunt for faction synergies to stop monsters from smashing through the immortal gate. Instead of just optimizing a path, you're building a squad. It feels a lot like Kingdom Rush if it had more RNG and card-collecting elements mixed in.
Since it's an Early Access title from CHENLIN, you'll definitely feel the rough edges. The UI and pacing can feel janky, and it's not nearly as polished as the big hits in the genre. It's a total diamond in the rough situation. You're paying $4.99 for it, which is a bit unusual for an indie TD that's still in this state, but the core loop is strong enough to justify the cost if you're a genre junkie.
Progression comes from the simulation and RPG elements as you build your base and refine your deck. It's not a masterpiece yet, but the strategy of combining different factions keeps you coming back to see what works. If you can look past the Early Access kinks, there's a lot of potential here for a sleeper hit.
