What is WilderDash?

WilderDash offers a fresh, action-packed twist on tower defense that shines in co-op despite its rough, unpolished edges.

Stop playing passive tower defense games where you just watch numbers go up. WilderDash throws you into the fray with a roguelite loop that demands real-time action and adaptability. It’s fresh, it’s chaotic, and it might just ruin other TDs for you.

Gameplay

WilderDash flips the script on static tower defense maps by throwing you directly into a procedurally generated world where you have to earn your keep. You spend your days ranging across the map to grab resources and set up defenses, but the real magic happens when night falls and the monsters attack. It’s not a 'set and forget' experience; you’re actually out there fighting alongside your towers, using auto-attacks that you can upgrade to hold the line. This action-RPG twist makes you a combatant, not just a manager, which feels way more active than the passive nature of Bloons TD. Because the maps change every run, you can’t memorize a perfect build like you do in Kingdom Rush. You have to adapt to what the terrain gives you, mixing tower placement with real-time combat. The loop is super addictive, especially since you can pull in up to six friends for co-op chaos. Just be warned: the polish is definitely missing in spots. You’ll hit some rough edges in the UI and balancing during long runs, making it feel a bit raw in places.

Verdict

WilderDash is worth your time if you want active tower defense and have a group of friends to play co-op with. Skip it if you need a polished, bug-free experience or prefer passive strategy games. At $5.99, it’s a fair gamble, but the raw edges might frustrate you if you’re looking for a tight, finished product.
