What is Slay Divinity?
Looking for a no-nonsense deckbuilder to kill time on your phone? Slay Divinity is a lean, mean Slay the Spire homage that strips away the mobile fluff to give you pure roguelike action.
Gameplay
You've probably played Slay the Spire, so you already know the drill here. You pick one of 4 characters, grab a starting deck, and climb a map of randomized encounters. The core loop is all about hunting for those specific card synergies that let you shred enemies before they even get a turn. It's fast, punchy, and perfect for when you're just killing ten minutes on your phone.
Don't expect a revolution in the genre, though. It's a direct homage that doesn't have the massive depth or polish of a Balatro or Monster Train. The meta-progression is pretty light—you're mostly just unlocking harder difficulty levels and chasing achievements. You won't find a massive skill tree or permanent power-ups here. It's a 'budget' experience that gets the basics right but keeps things simple.
One huge win is the monetization. There's no gold, no gems, and zero predatory pay-to-win garbage. It's free to play, though you'll have to pay for DLC if you want a couple of the premium characters. It's a rare, clean experience in a mobile market full of ads.
That said, it's definitely rough around the edges. Some players find the turn-order annoying, and the overall depth is thin. If you're looking for a complex, lifelong obsession, this isn't it. But as a palate cleanser or a way to introduce a friend to deckbuilders, it works great.
Key Features
- 4 characters with unique card sets
- Zero ads or pay-to-win mechanics
- Unlockable harder difficulty levels
- Randomized enemies and card rewards
What Players Say
Players generally love how addictive and fast-paced it is, with some calling it an 'absolute banger'. While many appreciate the lack of money grabs, others are bothered by the use of AI art and the 'bare-bones' feel of the early runs. Some users find the turn-start card draw clunky, and others wish there were relics or card upgrade systems to add more strategy. Overall, it's seen as 'fresh and fun' despite being a clear clone.

Verdict
“really fun, easy to pickup and do a couple battles but addicting enough to do a full run in one sitting. hoping to see more cards/combinations and characters in the future”
“really like it, would like to maybe upgrade cards or maybe some relics to find or something. would be 5 stars if they didn't use ai art.”
“I really like this game. It's a slay the spire clone yes, but the gameplay is fresh and fun. The characters are different enough to make me want to put time into each one. Very pleasantly surprised to not see a single ad, money grab or pay to win condition. Yes, two of the characters must be bought,”
“Absolute banger!!! Easy to learn, hard to master. Nice artwork and game mechanics. Bought DLC to support the dev!”
“Lots of fun. This game has the potential to be amazing. Super addictive and fast pased game. Dev. At the beginning of the turn your cards should draw before it says your turn. It's annoying to see its my turn, think about what card to play and then have them swapped out. Also when choosing random re”
“It's a bare-bones little roguelike deckbuilder. The first run only had 4 or so fights, but that's fine if you want something to play for 10-15 minutes. The mechanics are fine, nothing that hasn't been done before. I just wish they didn't use generated AI for all the art. The card art should give a g”
“This is a fun game with a simple premise and growing challenges that require strategy and luck to surpass. I'm not normally a fan of card based games, but this one works for me. The art is good. I like that there aren't ads, just premium decks to unlock. 5/5* for me.”
“Pretty fun, basic card battler, good game type to use AI for. Nicely done. Hope it gets built out with some more content.”
“This game is fantastic, easy to pick up and put down, but you don't want to.”
“Starts out simple and fun, put the only progression is the enemies becoming stronger. Getting more cards unlocked, just means it's harded to get a good combination of cards.”
7/10. It's a great choice if you want a clean, free deckbuilder for short bursts of gaming. Skip it if you're craving deep systems or high-end art, as the shallow progression and AI visuals might turn you off.
