What is Shogun's Stand?
Forget the 'set it and forget it' style of tower defense. Shogun's Stand throws you into the center of the action where you have to aim, fire, and build your defenses in real-time to survive. It's a high-energy blend of strategy and action that keeps you on your toes.

Gameplay
You're not just sitting back and watching towers do the work here. In Shogun's Stand, you're right in the thick of it, controlling the Shogun at the center of your castle. You'll spend your time aiming, firing, and fighting off feudal enemies while simultaneously placing traps to fortify your position. It's way more active than something like Kingdom Rush because you're managing direct combat and tower placement at the same time.
What keeps you coming back is the rogue-lite loop. You'll deal with random environment layouts, enemy spawns, and power-ups, so you can't just memorize a single 'perfect' build to breeze through. You've got to level up your build on the fly to survive waves hitting you from every single direction. It's addictive, but it's definitely an indie project. You'll notice it lacks that AAA polish, and the fast pace can feel chaotic if you're not used to action-TDs.
At $4.99, it's a fair price for a few hours of fun, but it's not reinventing the wheel. The systems are relatively straightforward, leaning more into the adrenaline of the hoard than complex strategy. If you're looking for a deep, slow-burn tactical experience, this isn't it, but as a fast-paced hybrid, it hits the spot. I'd give it a solid 7/10.

Verdict
Grab this if you want a fast-paced TD where you actually fight back. Skip it if you prefer polished AAA titles or slow, methodical strategy, as the chaotic nature and indie rough edges might grate on you.
