What is Rogtochess?

Rogtochess is a charming 8/10 indie auto-battler RPG that trades competitive pressure for co-op adventure and roguelike progression.

If you're bored of the same old PvP grind in Teamfight Tactics or Underlords, you need to check out Rogtochess. It’s a weird, wild mix that fuses auto-battler mechanics with RPG progression, and it actually works. You get to trek across the continent of Ivina with friends, dodging the stress of ranked ladders for a more relaxed, adventure-focused experience.

Gameplay

Rogtochess takes the core auto-battler loop and smashes it into a roguelike RPG, so you aren't just staring at a lobby like in TFT or Dota Underlords. You trek across the continent of Ivina, building custom squads and tweaking formations before letting them rip. The 'rogue' element means you progress characters as you go, so you never start from zero on a new floor. You'll encounter random stuff like arcade machines and jukeboxes, which adds a weird, wild flavor to the adventure. It’s a co-op experience where you defend against waves in a tower-defense style alongside two other people. The combat feels satisfying, but the game doesn't try to be Hearthstone Battlegrounds. Instead, it makes the autobattler just the combat system for a larger journey. You’re here for the story of tacticians and the tactical challenge, not the stress of a ranked ladder.

Verdict

I’d give it a solid 8/10 because it’s just a blast to play with friends. Grab a couple of buddies and dive in if you want a tactical challenge without the ranked stress. Skip it if you need polished UI or deep, complex RPG systems, as the rough edges might annoy you.
