What is Onmyoji: Soul Legend?
If you're into dark folklore and want a deckbuilder that blends traditional card play with heavy RPG elements, you've gotta check out Onmyoji: Soul Legend. It's a moody, tactical trip where you command spirits to exorcise demons in a gorgeous indie package.

Gameplay
You'll spend most of your time building decks around Shikigami summons and spell cards to tear through Yokai and Oni bosses. It's not a pure roguelike like Slay the Spire, but it hits those same buttons with a loop centered on hunting for card synergies and managing resources to survive. You've gotta time your exorcism rewards and handle specific unit roles, which feels a bit like Monster Train in how you manage your board. The variety in runs is solid, and the meta-progression keeps you hooked because you're always trying to optimize your Shikigami for the next fight.
It's not all smooth sailing, though. At $9.99, it's a paid entry in a space often dominated by free-to-play gachas, and while the art is gorgeous, the UI is clunky. If you're used to the streamlined speed of Balatro, the heavy amount of menus and 'soul' management will feel like a chore. It's a total grinder's game. You'll love the depth if you enjoy the collect-and-optimize loop, but the friction in the interface can definitely drag the experience down.

Verdict
I'm giving this a 7.5/10. Grab it if you love deep optimization and folklore, but skip it if you want a quick, low-commitment session or hate clunky UIs.
