First Impressions: 墨守 Demo
If you're bored of easy tower defenses, you need to try the 墨守 (Boshu) Demo. It's a brutal, high-difficulty strategy game where you manipulate time to survive an Eastern fantasy onslaught.

Gameplay
You're diving into a high-difficulty 2D tower defense set in an Eastern high-fantasy world, but it's not your usual 'set it and forget it' experience. The core hook is time manipulation. You'll likely fail your first few attempts, then you rewind time to fix your mistakes and optimize your timeline. It turns the whole defense into a puzzle where timing and placement are everything. You can't just spam towers like you would in Bloons TD; the difficulty is cranked way up, forcing you to actually think through every move.
There's a massive amount of content here for a demo, with over 20 hours of gameplay. The real longevity comes from the level editor, letting you build your own stages so the game can theoretically live forever. However, it's still a demo, so expect some rough edges. The UI feels a bit stiff and the overall polish isn't on the level of Kingdom Rush yet. It's a niche aesthetic that might not hit for everyone, and the steep difficulty curve means you'll be sweating through your sessions. Since it's free to play, the value is great, but the raw state of the interface is the main trade-off for that early access feel.

First Impressions
This is a solid 7.5/10 for anyone who wants a punishing, puzzle-like TD experience. Since it's free, you should definitely grab it if you love a challenge, but skip it if you prefer polished, relaxing gameplay. I'm looking forward to seeing a more refined UI in the full release.
