What is Kill the Slimes?

A budget-friendly, low-stress slime-evolver that's perfect for casual play despite some late-game scaling issues.

If you want an autobattler that doesn't feel like a second job, you need to try Kill the Slimes. It's a low-stress roguelite where you cleanse a sacred forest by building an army of deadly blobs.

Gameplay

You've probably had enough of the high-stress sweatiness found in TFT or Battlegrounds. Kill the Slimes is the antidote. The hook is dead simple: you move your character around a hex-grid, and your slimes handle the fighting. You spend your gold on upgrades to evolve elemental slimes and craft absurd weapons. It's an incremental-style experience, so you'll get that constant dopamine hit as the numbers go up and you stack synergies to break the meta.

It's not trying to be a deep tactical sim, which is why it works. You're basically cleansing a sacred forest of a slime infestation in a laid-back roguelite loop. You'll spend most of your time building a slime army and watching them melt everything in their path. It's the perfect 'brain-off' game to play while you're listening to a podcast.

However, it's not without rough edges. The visuals feel a bit 'generic indie,' and the devs used AI-generated concept art for prototyping. You'll also notice some scaling issues in the later stages. Specifically, you might hit a wall in wave 5 of the endless mode where your HP just isn't high enough to survive. It's derivative of the current roguelite-autobattler trend, but it doesn't pretend to be revolutionary.

At $2.99, it's a paid title in a genre that's usually free-to-play. For the price of a coffee, you get a clean, addictive loop, but don't expect a masterpiece. It's a solid 7/10 experience that values your time by keeping things fast and casual.
