What is Gap Storm?
Forget the standard attack-and-defend loop. Gap Storm is a high-energy pivot that turns a classic shedding game into a math-heavy combat sport where the distance between your numbers is your biggest weapon.

Gameplay
You aren't building a deck from scratch here; you're playing a shedding game like Uno or President with a math twist. The whole loop centers on the 'GAP'. When you beat a card, you swing a penalty based on the numerical difference between your card and the last one, multiplied by your combo. It's addictive because you aren't just trying to empty your hand—you're calculating the biggest possible gap to wreck your opponent. Synergies come from how you manipulate those numbers to keep combos alive.
If you're going solo, the Adventure mode is where the meat is. You'll fight 17 rule-bending bosses that force you to scrap your strategy and pivot on the fly, which keeps the runs from feeling repetitive. You can also jump into 2-4 player matches online or against AI. At $9.99, it's a fair price for the hook, but keep in mind it's in Early Access. The UI is basic and it lacks AAA polish. It's stripped back, and you'll definitely feel some of that indie jank while you play, but the core mechanic is strong enough to carry it.

Verdict
7/10. Grab this if you're bored of traditional deckbuilders and want a competitive, high-energy challenge. If you can't stand basic UIs or Early Access rough edges, you might want to wait for a full polish.
