First Impressions: Elemental Master: Heroes Assemble Demo
Ever wanted a game where you just tweak stats until your team becomes an unstoppable wall of damage? Elemental Master is a slow-burn idle strategy game all about building the ultimate squad. It's less about quick reflexes and more about the long-term grind.

Gameplay
First thing you've gotta realize: this isn't like TFT or Hearthstone Battlegrounds. Forget the high-intensity drafting and fast-paced chaos. This is a slow burn. You're basically playing a giant numbers puzzle where you collect heroes and mess around with arcane arts, spirit beasts, and runes to make your stats explode. When you finally nail a build and your team just shreds through a wave, it feels great, but the moment-to-moment loop is mostly about the grind. You'll spend your time promoting heroes and tweaking gear just to see those numbers go up.
It's a bit of a mixed bag, though. The Steam page talks about 'thousands of unique builds,' but you'll find the demo is incredibly limited. One player pointed out that "the current demo only features two heroes," which makes it hard to actually test any real strategy. It feels more like a tech demo than a full slice of the game. You'll notice some clunky edges, and it honestly feels like a mobile idle game ported to Steam without a unique hook to set it apart from the crowd.
If you're into letting things run in the background and optimizing stats for hours, you might dig the progression. You've got Demon Tide defense and team battles to tackle, but without more variety, it gets repetitive fast. It's just not doing anything new enough to grab me right now. I'm giving it a 4/10. It's not broken, but it's just not polished enough to compete with the classics.
Since it's free to try, you can jump in and see for yourself, but don't drop your whole weekend on it. You're better off wishlisting it and hoping the full release adds some actual meat to the bones. For now, it's a bit too derivative to be a must-play.

If you love idle games and don't mind a heavy grind, give it a quick spin since it's free. Otherwise, skip it for now, wishlist it, and wait to see if they actually add some variety.
