What is DUSK OF WAR?

A janky but interesting 3D hybrid of an idle clicker and tower defense that needs more polish.

Looking for something weird to sink your teeth into? DUSK OF WAR blends Tower Defense with an idle clicker, putting you in charge of an entire nation's war machine. It's not a shooter, but a strategic grind to keep your country from collapsing.

Gameplay

You aren't just placing towers and hoping for the best here. As the War Minister, you're managing a massive war machine from the top down, balancing industry, finances, and food supply just to keep your army from falling apart. It's a weird mashup of a Tower Defense game and an idle clicker where you recruit infantry and artillery to stop the enemy from wrecking your capital. If you love seeing numbers go up and the 'just one more upgrade' loop, you'll dig the incremental grind.

Don't expect the tight tactical placement of something like Kingdom Rush. This is way more about the macro-management of your economy. However, it's a rough diamond. Oedipe Games shifted the vision from a 3D colony sim to this incremental style, and you can tell. Some parts feel disconnected and the UI isn't polished. In the demo, you'll notice big gaps—like the fact that tanks and planes aren't even in yet.

At $7.99, it's a bit of a gamble since it's an indie project with some serious jank. You're paying for an experiment in blending genres. If you can handle the rough edges and the missing units, the core loop of building up your industry is satisfying. But if you're a TD purist who wants a smooth, polished experience, the chaos here might be too much for you. I'd give it a 6/10.

Verdict

If you love idle loops and don't mind rough edges, give it a shot. TD purists should skip this for now until the UI and missing units are sorted out.
